Find out whether you are actually being paid correctly.
Most Australian workers never check. The information is scattered across payslips, a super fund app and a contract nobody has opened since the first week. WorkScudo pulls it together and does the maths, so you can see what is right, what is late and what you may be owed.
- Free for workers
- Your employer sees nothing

- No legal advice, just the facts
The problem is not that workers do not care. It is that checking is hard.
To work out whether last fortnight's pay was correct you need four things at once: your contract, the modern award and classification that applies to you, the hours you actually worked and the payslip itself. Then you need to know the casual loading, the Saturday rate, the Sunday rate, the public holiday rate, the overtime threshold and the superannuation guarantee percentage that applied on that date. Very few people have all of that in front of them on a Tuesday night.
So the check does not happen. Underpayments of a few dollars a shift compound quietly across a year. Superannuation goes unpaid for a quarter and nobody notices until the annual statement arrives, by which time the money has missed a year of returns.
WorkScudo exists to make that check automatic. Not once a year, and not only when something feels wrong, but on every single payday.
What you can check in the app
Every item below is checked for you and raised as an issue, with the amount and the date it was due.
Has my super been paid?
SuperTracker matches each payday to the contribution that should have followed it, shows whether it reached your fund, whether it was short and how many business days late it is under Payday Super.
Am I on the right rate?
Your hourly rate is compared with the award rate for your classification, including the casual loading if you are casual. If you are below it, you see the gap per hour and the back pay since the date it started.
Were my weekends and public holidays paid properly?
Sunday rates, Saturday rates, evening loadings and public holiday pay are the single most common underpayment WorkScudo finds. Each shift is checked against the penalty that applies.
Was my overtime paid?
Hours above the ordinary span are compared against the overtime multipliers in your award, so unpaid overtime shows up as a number rather than a feeling.
Is my payslip even legal?
Australian payslips must contain specific information. WorkScudo checks each payslip against those requirements and flags what is missing, including missing super detail and incorrect hours.
Does my pay match my bank account?
The net figure on the payslip is compared against what actually landed, which catches late payments, partial payments and deductions you did not agree to.
From signing up to knowing where you stand
Setting up takes a couple of minutes. After that it runs on its own.
- 01
Upload your contract
A photo of your letter of offer is enough. WorkScudo reads the employer, your employment type, your pay rate and your classification, and asks you to confirm anything it is unsure about.
- 02
Send your payslips
Photograph them, forward the email, or connect your payroll account. Old payslips can be uploaded in bulk so the history is checked too.
- 03
Add your super statement
Download your contribution statement from your fund or myGov and upload it. WorkScudo matches each contribution to the payday it belongs to.
- 04
See what is actually owed
Issues appear with amounts, dates and plain-English explanations. You decide whether to raise it with your employer, take it to the Fair Work Ombudsman or your union, or ask a lawyer anonymously.
Warning signs worth checking today
If any of these sound familiar, run the check. It costs nothing and takes minutes.
Your super has not appeared
Super should follow each pay under Payday Super rules. If your fund shows nothing for a payday that has passed its deadline, that is a gap, not a delay.
Your payslip does not match your bank deposit
A mismatch between net pay and the deposit is worth tracing straight away, before the records get old.
You are paid the same rate every day of the week
If you work Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays and the hourly rate never changes, penalty rates are very likely not being applied.
Your hours look wrong
Rostered hours, worked hours and paid hours should agree. If a timesheet has been changed after you submitted it, keep your own record of what you worked.
You never receive a payslip
Employers must issue a payslip within one working day of paying you. Not receiving one is itself a breach, and it also makes every other check harder.
Your classification has never changed
If your duties have grown but your classification has not, you may be working above your pay point. Classification is one of the most commonly missed adjustments.
Your information is yours
Nothing you upload is visible to an employer unless you deliberately choose to share it. Lawyers see cases without names: the firm's conflict check must clear first, and your identity is released only after you say yes, in the app, on the record.
Documents sit in an encrypted vault hosted in Australia. Every access, consent and share is written to a time-stamped audit log that you can read. If you leave, you can export everything you put in and delete the account.
WorkScudo is independent. It is not run by an employer, a super fund, a union or a law firm, and it does not take a cut of anything you recover.
Questions workers ask most
How do I check if my employer has paid my super?
Compare the super amount shown on each payslip with the contributions received by your fund, and check the timing against the Payday Super deadline for that payday. You can see contributions in your fund's app or through myGov under the ATO's super section. WorkScudo does this matching for you automatically and flags anything missing, short or late.
How often should my employer pay super?
Under Payday Super, superannuation contributions must reach your fund within a set number of business days of each payday, rather than quarterly. If a payday has passed that deadline without the contribution arriving, it is overdue.
What should be on my payslip?
An Australian payslip must show the employer and employee names, the ABN, the pay period, the date of payment, gross and net pay, any loadings, allowances, bonuses or penalty rates, deductions, and the superannuation contributions made, including the fund. If your payslip is missing any of this, WorkScudo will flag it.
How do I find my award rate?
Your award depends on the industry and the work you do, and your rate depends on your classification within it. The Fair Work Ombudsman publishes award rates and a pay calculator. WorkScudo reads your classification from your contract and compares your actual rate against the award rate for it.
What do I do if I have been underpaid?
Usually the first step is simply asking. A large share of discrepancies are payroll errors that get corrected once raised. WorkScudo drafts that message for you with the payday details attached. If it is not resolved, you can take an organised evidence pack to the Fair Work Ombudsman, your union, or a workplace lawyer.
How long should I keep my payslips?
Employers must keep employment records for seven years. Keeping your own copies for the same period is sensible, because the moment you need them is usually after you have left the job and lost access to the payroll portal.
Will my employer find out I am using WorkScudo?
No. Your account is yours. An employer only ever sees something if you choose to send it to them from inside the app.
Does it cost anything?
The core worker tools are free. If optional paid services are introduced later, the cost will be shown clearly before you choose them.
