Matters that arrive already reconciled.
The expensive part of an underpayment matter is rarely the argument. It is the intake: chasing payslips, rebuilding a roster history from memory, working out which award applied and quantifying a claim before you can tell whether it is worth running. WorkScudo does that work before the matter reaches you.
- Conflicts screened first
- Anonymised until consent
- Quantified claims
- Dated evidence bundles
- Group matters identified
Why intake is the bottleneck
A worker who believes they have been underpaid usually arrives with a feeling and a partial set of documents. Before any assessment is possible, someone has to assemble the contract, the payslips, the rosters, the super statements and the correspondence, identify the award and classification, and run the arithmetic across every affected pay period. For a claim that may be worth a few thousand dollars, that work can exceed the value of the matter.
The result is a well-known gap: a large volume of genuine, modest underpayment claims that never reach a practitioner because the preparation cost is prohibitive, and a smaller volume of matters that do reach one but consume disproportionate unbilled intake time.
WorkScudo reconciles the record continuously while the employment is live. By the time a worker asks for help, the quantification already exists, the evidence is already dated and sourced, and the timeline is already built.
What arrives with a matter
Every referred matter carries the same structured pack.
A quantified claim
The alleged shortfall broken down by category, by pay period and by cause, with the award provision each line relies on.
Dated, sourced evidence
Payslips, contracts, rosters, super statements and correspondence, each tagged with its origin: synced from payroll, received from a fund, or uploaded by the worker.
A built timeline
Employment start, rate and classification changes, leave, incidents and every communication with the employer, in chronological order.
An evidence strength indicator
A transparent assessment of how well the available documents support each head of claim, so triage is quick.
A cleared conflict check
The matter is screened against the firm's client list before it is ever displayed. A firm acting for the employer never sees it.
Group matter identification
Where several workers at the same employer show the same issue, they are surfaced together rather than as unconnected individual enquiries.
How a referral reaches your firm
Consent and conflict controls are sequential, and every step is logged.
- 01
The worker chooses to seek help
From inside their own account, having already seen what the reconciliation shows. There is no cold intake and no lead purchase.
- 02
Conflicts are screened
The matter is checked against your firm's clients. If there is any conflict, your firm does not see the matter at all.
- 03
You see an anonymised matter
Industry, state, employment type, the heads of claim, the estimated value and the evidence strength. No names, no employer identity where it would identify the worker.
- 04
You express interest
If the matter suits your practice, you ask to take it. Nothing is disclosed on the strength of interest alone.
- 05
The worker releases their name
Identity is shared only when the worker agrees, in the app, on the record. The consent is time-stamped in the audit log.
- 06
The matter moves to your active list
With the full evidence bundle, private firm notes and tasks, and continuing updates if the employment is ongoing.
Our position on the professional relationship
WorkScudo is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice to workers. It organises records, performs arithmetic against published award and superannuation rules, and tells people clearly when a question requires a qualified professional.
We do not take a percentage of recoveries, and we do not sell leads by auction. Firms are verified before admission to the panel, including practising certificate and insurance checks, and matters are allocated on fit and capacity rather than price.
Where a worker's best path is the Fair Work Ombudsman, their union or a direct conversation with the employer, the platform says so. Many matters resolve at that first step, which is the correct outcome and keeps the matters that do reach you worth running.
Questions from practitioners
How is the conflict check performed?
Your firm maintains its client list within the platform, and matters are screened against it before display. Your firm also confirms its own independent check before a matter is accepted, and that confirmation is recorded in the audit log.
Is the quantification something we can rely on?
Treat it as a well-prepared starting position rather than an opinion. Every figure is traceable to a source document and to the award provision applied, so it can be verified rather than taken on trust. The working is exportable.
Who holds the evidence?
The worker does. The vault is their account. Sharing with a firm is an act of consent by the worker, is scoped, and can be withdrawn.
What about matters outside underpayment?
The record is equally useful for unfair dismissal, general protections and redundancy matters, because the contract, timeline, correspondence and final pay calculation are already assembled.
Can advocates and unions use it?
Yes. The same structured matter and consent model applies to union officials and registered advocates.
How are firms admitted?
Firms are verified on practising credentials, professional indemnity insurance, relevant practice areas and jurisdictions. Panel membership is reviewed rather than permanent.
