Employment should not be this hard to keep track of.

WorkScudo was built around a simple observation: almost everyone involved in an underpayment wants it fixed, and almost nobody has the information to fix it early. We make the record visible to every party at once.

  • Independent
  • Australian-hosted
  • Free core tools for workers
  • No commission on recoveries

Why we exist

Billions of dollars in Australian wages and superannuation go unpaid each year, and the overwhelming majority of it is not theft. It is configuration. A penalty rate that was never switched on. A classification set at onboarding and never revisited. A super payment that failed at the clearing house and was never chased because nobody was watching that particular screen that week.

The reason these errors persist is structural. The worker has the payslips but not the award logic. The employer has the payroll system but no independent check on it. The regulator sees it years later, when the record has decayed. The lawyer sees it only once the cost of reconstructing the evidence has already made small claims uneconomic.

WorkScudo addresses the information problem rather than the dispute. If every party can see the same reconciled record on the same day, most of these problems resolve themselves with a message and a corrected pay run.

What we believe

  • Early beats adversarial

A super payment chased five business days late is a payroll fix. The same payment chased five years late is a legal matter. We optimise relentlessly for the first case.

  • Workers should own their record

Employment evidence belongs to the person who earned it. It should not disappear when they lose access to a payroll portal.

  • Independence is the product

We are not owned by an employer group, a super fund, a union or a law firm, and we take no percentage of anything recovered. Our incentive is accuracy.

  • Show the working

Every number is traceable to a source document and a rule. If we cannot show why a figure is what it is, we do not display it.

  • Know our limits

We are not lawyers or financial advisers. Where a question needs professional judgement, we say so and hand it on rather than guessing in plain English.

  • Plain language, many languages

The workers most exposed to underpayment are often those least served by English-only legal writing. The platform speaks six languages and checks visa condition limits such as student work hours.

Who built it

WorkScudo is an Australian venture built by a team spanning product, payroll compliance, employment law and applied AI, with delivery support from Savvy Signature across the Gold Coast and Gurugram.

The platform was designed in consultation with workers in hospitality, healthcare, aged care, construction and retail, the sectors where award complexity and casual employment concentrate the risk, and with employers in those same sectors who wanted an independent check rather than another dashboard inside the system they already distrusted.

We are in early access. That means the product is real and working, the portal can be explored today, and the roadmap is still being shaped by the people using it.

What WorkScudo is, and what it is not

WorkScudo is

  • An independent check on payroll output
  • A tool that reads documents you provide
  • A way to prepare evidence before you need it
  • Free to use for core worker tools

WorkScudo is not

  • A law firm or a legal advice service
  • A payroll system or a replacement for one
  • Connected to the ATO or to your super fund
  • A guarantee of any particular outcome
  • A commission-taking claims operation

About the company

Is WorkScudo available now?

WorkScudo is in early access. A clickable version of the platform is available to explore, and the waitlist determines the order of onboarding.

How is it funded?

Through investment and through paid employer and professional tiers. Core worker tools are free and are not funded by selling worker data, which we do not do.

No. WorkScudo is an independent private company. We reference publicly published award rates and superannuation rules, but we are not a government service and have no connection to any government system.
